Hello, my name is Gemma.
I went to Chang Mai, Thailand to visit The Life Change People and have been in contact with them on and off over the last 2 years. My life has changed enormously.
My first triumph was travelling on my own, I’d never done it before! During my weeks holiday I learned things about myself and made realisations that I was really not expecting. It was quite a revelation. Looking back I think the holiday planted a great big seed, which with a bit of attention continued to grow, and is still growing.
After my week away in the sun I returned to England feeling quite emotional, although I never want to forget my time in Chiang Mai.
My old ways, and patterns of behavior left me feeling depressed, stressed, and anxious. I felt totally self defeated. My new life consists of a completely more positive outlook on life. I now know what’s important and what’s not, I feel better about myself and have ditched my old job and taken a new career direction, as well as returning to studying.
I have a fabulous relationship that I don’t think negatively of and I make sure I laugh every day. I have more spare time and fill that time with enjoyable days out.
Despite feeling so good however it was the most challenging year of my life. I experienced a great deal of loss and bereavement in my family and had lots of hurdles to overcome. All the time I managed to keep my head above water by using the tools and skills I learnt with Chrissy and Alex in Thailand. We kept in touch and managed somehow to deal with the difficult times. I have even taken some positives out of my last year, which looking back is an amazing achievement.
I’d like to thank the team in Thailand and I hope to go back sometime—as a friend rather than a Life Change guest.
